Lincoln Heights

Dating back to the 1830s, Lincoln Heights is considered to be the oldest suburb in all of Los Angeles. The boundaries are loosely defined as East of the LA River, South of the 110 Freeway, North of Mission Road, and West of Avenue 39. Residences are primarily single-family homes, multi-family (1-4 unit) buildings and high-density low-rise wood and stucco apartment buildings. Dodgers Stadium in Echo Park lies just across the 5 Freeway, and local hotspots within Lincoln Heights include the Brewery Art Colony and the San Antonio Winery. In the early 2000s, and continuing on during the post-2008 real estate recovery, Lincoln Heights has experienced a tremendous gentrification boom, including the wonderful re-purposing of the former Fuller Paints building into Alta Lofts.
