Atwater Village derived it’s name thanks to it’s proximity to the LA River (At Water). It’s located just East of the river, the 5 Freeway and Griffith Park. The area is known for it’s character homes, big lots, Sunday Farmer’s Market, and fantastic pedestrian walks dotted with cafes and shopping.
