Rowan Lofts is a marquee example of the Old Bank District’s early 20th Century commercial buildings. Built by famed real estate developer Robert A. Rowan in 1911, the Rowan Building was formerly home to many of the city’s oldest and most prominent law offices and stock brokerage firms during the golden years of Los Angeles’ downtown area. Fast-forward to the building’s 2008 renovation, the interiors of the units were modernized with contemporary finishes and fixtures. Original building elements such as Carrara marble floors in the lobby and most hallways, nickel silver detailed Art Deco elevator doors, and exposed brick and mahogany windows were retained and restored throughout the building. The result is one of downtown Los Angeles’ most unique adaptive reuse projects and an example of timeless Beaux Arts design meshed with 21st century style.

With some exceptions, floorplans generally are studios or 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom plans ranging from 460 to around 1,200 feet, and 2 bedroom, 2 bath units from 860 to around 1,260 feet.
